preschool policies

classroom procedures:

  • Children planning to attend the 2-year-old program must be 2 years old by June 1, wearing “pull-ups” and in the process of potty training. You must be comfortable with the staff changing child’s “pull-up”, or if you prefer you may assist your child

  • Children planning to attend a 3-year-old program must be 3 years old by September 1, and fully potty trained

  • Children planning to attend a 4-year-old program must be 4 years old by September 1, and fully potty trained

  • Snacks/Lunch will be healthy, nutritional choices. You will have the opportunity to bring your child’s favorite snack to share during the school year. If you have a different snack that you would like your child to eat, you will need to provide the snack and send it in your child’s backpack. Please make your child’s teacher aware.

  • The children in a 3 yr, 4 yr or Dual Immersion program will be performing once during the year, in May.

  • We will have a year-end photograph taken (there is no obligation to purchase photo’s). It is assumed that all parents have no objection to their child having their photograph taken as part of the occasional press, publicity and social media that occurs throughout the community.

  • We use positive reinforcement as much as possible to teach the children structure. If discipline is needed, we use the warning system first & then time out. We will let you know if there are any problems so you as parents can reinforce positive behavior at home.

  • UAC cannot be responsible for items brought onto the premises. To assist the staff in returning lost items parents are asked to clearly mark all property with your child’s name.

  • Tuition is paid through an Automatic Payment System, on the 5th day of the month. There is a non-refundable registration fee due at the time of registration (registration fee includes all supplies for the school year).

  • After school has been in session 6 weeks, you will be obligated to pay a $200.00 cancellation fee if you decide to remove your child from UAC Preschool.

  • If you have any issues or concerns please feel free to talk to your child’s teacher or the UAC office to resolve them. Making this year safe and fun as well as educational is our biggest goal!

health and safety protocol

  • We are pleased to say we have the largest preschool facility in Wasatch County to allow students more classroom space.

  • UAC will be using the drop-off lanes for all classes at both the beginning and end of their students day. Allowing parents the convenience of curb-side assistance and reducing the amount of people in the building for increased safety.

  • Drop-off and pick-up locations:
3 year-old, 4 year-old & Dual Immersion program - north side of the building drive thru entrance
2 year-old - main entrance diagonal door on the southwest side of the building studio 4 entrance

  • Students will be asked to sanitize or wash their hands as they enter and leave any classroom or instructional area.

  • We are excited about our Fall 2020 addition of an outdoor playground on the west side of our building. It includes playground equipment, with mulch as the ground cover, a natural play area with trees, rocks and dirt. The building provides complete shade cover for a great portion of the day and the area is fenced in on all sides. We have scheduled only one class at a time using the outdoor playground.

  • At the conclusion of each preschool class the classroom is cleaned and sanitized including a floor treatment.

  • Student cubbies will be color coded and assigned for the school year and cleaned after every use.

you should know:

  • We keep class sizes small so that each student gets daily one-on-one time with their teacher.

  • Teachers are able to assess their student’s individual academic level to help them develop these important skills at a pace that is comfortable for each child.

  • We provide a healthy snack for our students and parents will have a few opportunities to bring your student’s favorite snack to share with the class.

  • It is not required for your child to be fully potty trained to attend our 2 year-old program. If your child is not potty trained, you will need to provide the teacher with a few diapers and wipes for your child. If your child is actively “in training”, we ask you to send them in “pull-ups” so we can easily assist your child in the process. 3 & 4 year-olds must be fully potty trained.
