Our story

Our dance program was founded in 1998, under the original name of Wasatch Dance Center. Our mission was to bring a new approach to dance in the Heber Valley, and provide the best dance education in Utah. Shortly after, we expanded our program to include an academic preschool, allowing students to further explore through art and music curriculum. In the past twenty years our vision has since transformed into one of the most reputable programs in Utah. 

Our dance program quickly excelled as we worked to provide opportunities for our dancers to be featured across the country. We are proud to say that many of our dancers have gone on to dance at both the collegiate and the professional level and many have been selected to represent their high school as the Dance Sterling Scholar. However, our greatest joy comes from expanding our dance program in a way that provides all dancers, of all levels, an opportunity to learn, and grow in this beautiful art form. 

Not only has our dance and preschool programs thrived since 1998. Both have been  awarded “Best of Heber City for Dance and Preschool Instruction” for the last 7 years. In 2011, we established a non-profit foundation and began bringing the beloved Nutcracker to our community to help raise funds for the Wasatch County Children’s Justice Center (CJC). Our production of the Nutcracker has given many dancers, elementary students and community members a chance to learn about the classical ballet and we are thrilled to see the benefit grow, and raise much needed funds for the Wasatch County Children’s Justice Center. In 2021, we proudly donated $20,000 to the CJC.

In 2016, we launched a youth theatre program for young artists to train in music, dance and theatre. We produce a large production each year. Our past productions include The Little Mermaid Jr, Lion King Jr, Beauty and the Beast Jr, Mary Poppins Jr and Frozen Jr. This program allows students to find their stage.

We pride ourselves in providing one of the brightest faculties in the state. UAC’s classes offer the highest quality of both technical and educational instruction. We also provide opportunities for our students to work with incredibly talented guest artists and choreographers from all over the country. 

Our programs focus on building each student's confidence, personal skills, and helping them excel in many aspects of life. UAC is for all ages, all abilities, and all levels of interest. The students at UAC work harder, have more fun, and come away with more than anyone else.
