UAC Theatre is thrilled to announce the auditions for their upcoming junior production for boys and girls ages 10-14 years old.

Auditions will be held in person on Saturday, January 4th at Utah Arts Collective, 550 W 100 S, Heber. Plan to sing 16-32 bars of a Broadway or Disney style song that showcases your voice the best. Also prepare a 1-minute monologue or share a short story. (actors can bring a track to play or sheet music) We will have an accompanist.

CALL-BACKS will be held on January 6th & 7th and will be by invitation only with the requests being emailed. Reading, additional singing and dancing will be expected at call-backs. Call-back music will be posted Saturday, January 4th after 8:00 pm.

Matilda Jr.will be directed by Kristen Hughes, accompanied by an amazing team including Mary Eckersley, Giuliana Willis, Lindsay Broadbent, Laura Wardle, and Megan Grass.

Matilda Jr. will run April 16th through April 19th, 2025.
Rehearsals will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:45-8:15 p.m. and begin January 9th

Matilda Jr Training Program

The vision of UAC Theatre Production Training Program is to give students the opportunity to experience being part of a production. Students train to build their technique specific to their character and become part of a theatre family. Students will create lasting memories, friendships and build confidence through the theatre arts.

  • Ages: 10–14 years old

  • Requirements: 2 days/week of theatre classes (voice, theatre, movement and specialty classes)

  • Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:45 - 8:15 p.m.

  • Performance: April 2025

  • All-inclusive 4-month tuition: $140/month (January-April)
    Includes: Training classes per week, rehearsals, costume rentals, production fees, professional headshot and cast t-shirt

Production Featured Dancer Program

The vision of UAC Theatre Featured Dancer Program is to give students the opportunity to use their dance ability to express themselves and to be part of a theatre production. Students will create lasting memories, friendships and build confidence through the theatre arts.

  • Ages: 12–15 years old, and enrolled in UAC dance program, level 4-6

  • Requirements: 1 day/week of theatre rehearsal classes (voice, theatre and movement classes)

  • Rehearsals: TBD

  • Performance: April 2025

  • All-inclusive 4-month tuition: $75/month (Jan-April)
    Includes: Rehearsals, costume rentals, production fees, professional headshot and cast t-shirt

THEATRE Training Program

The Vision of UAC Theater Training Program is to create a well-rounded youth theatre-training program. Giving focused, passionate students the opportunity to grow their talent through technique and training. They will have the opportunity to work with industry professionals, create lasting memories and build confidence.

  • Ages: 8–14 years old

  • Requirements: Attend the Fall Theatre Camp, August 5-6 and/or receive a training invitation.
    2 days/week of theatre classes (voice, acting, musical theater dance and specialty classes)

  • Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:45 - 8:15 p.m.

  • Two Performances: Winter One-Acts Production-December 2024 and Year-end Junior Production-April 2025

  • All-inclusive 8-month tuition: $135/month (Includes: 3-hours of technique classes, rehearsals, costume rentals, production fees, professional headshot, resume and cast t-shirt)

  • Tuition does not include: Class attire, tap shoes, performance shoes and tights, complimentary tickets and $50 registration fee per family.

CURRICULUM:

  • Voice: Warm-up, breath control, vocal styles, sing in harmony, understanding your voice and performance quality.

  • Dance: Warm-up, flexibility, posture, understanding line and expression. Dance styles taught jazz, tap and musical theatre.

  • Tap Technique: Students will improve their musicality, rhythm and coordination in this class while focusing on classroom etiquette, professionalism and working as a group.

  • Theater: Warm-up, theatre styles, improvisation, pantomime, musical focus, projection, stage direction and story telling.

  • Specialty Classes: Theatre etiquette, stage make-up, audition technique, song selection, costume care, props, backstage and rehearsal strategies.

2024 GUEST THEATRE CAMP FACULTY!

THAYNE JASPERSON - Thayne is an actor and dancer. Thayne was most recently in the original company of Hamilton on Broadway where he originated the role of Samuel Seabury and played multiple other roles including u/s King George, u/s John Laurens/Philip Hamilton. Other Broadway credits include Matilda and Newsies. National Tours: West Side Story and Oz (Scarecrow). Regional: Finding Neverland (ART, original Porthos). Film: High School Musical and HSM 2.  TV: MTV’s American Mall, SYTYCD Season Four, and Smash.

ERIN WILSON -
Erin has had the honor of performing on Broadway, in numerous National Tours and worked for the Hallmark Channel, Netflix, TBS, TNT. She studied Musical Theater at Brigham Young University and then moved to NYC. Early on she worked for many lovely theaters across the US before originating the role of Shen Shen and understudying Madame Morrible in the record-breaking show of Wicked (2nd National Tour). She loved playing Madame Morrible, the Midwife, and Shen Shen in all three Wicked US companies: 1st National, 2nd National, and Broadway!  Erin is also a professor in Theater and Music for Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University.

OLIVIA STODDARD -
Olivia, a Heber native, has been performing since she was 5 years old. Currently, she is a senior in the Musical Dance Theatre program at BYU with a minor in contemporary dance, with an emphasis in choreography.  She recently finished a season at the historical Barn Theatre in Michigan where she was featured in professional productions such as Anything Goes! (Reno’s Angel Chastity), The Wizard of Oz, and Escape to Margaritaville!. Other recent credits include Rose Lennox in The Secret Garden (BYU MainStage), Martha in 7 Brides for 7 Brothers (HVA), and Queen Genevieve/Mme. Carp in The Princess and the Pauper (DSF Studios). She also served as a director and choreographer for BYU’s 2024 Broadway Revue. This upcoming year she will be a Young Ambassador at BYU as well as performing in My Fair Lady at Hale Center Theater Orem.

This workshop will inspire your student and introduce them to future training opportunities.
It will also serve, for those interested as an audition for the UAC Theatre program.
We are looking for students interested in focusing their training in acting, music, and musical theatre dance education. 
At the conclusion of the workshop UAC Directors and guest faculty will email acceptance invitations to students that demonstrate interest, focus and age appropriate classroom etiquette.

LEVELS:
Students will register by age for the theatre camp.
